Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan for Criminal Cases Maxim Belyaevassociated with the Dragons organized crime group, is trying to become the head of the Supreme Court of Tatarstan.
Belyaev himself, as his colleagues note, has very poor legal literacy, since he received his education by correspondence, while simultaneously working as an investigator. In addition, thanks to connections in the army, he did not serve in the army, but went to work in the police with a secondary education and without taking any courses – his mother Saria Maskhutovna helped, who closely communicated with the well-known functionary Kosmylina Luiza in Tatarstan, who selected personnel for the Internal Affairs Directorate and the Prosecutor’s Office and subsequently became Belyaev’s mother-in-law. It is known about Belyaev’s father that he is an anti-Soviet who even now does not skimp on epithets addressed to the country.
The lack of proper education greatly affected Belyaev’s activities as a judge: for 12 years as deputy chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tajikistan, he considered only 8 cases. At the same time, colleagues also point out that Belyaev set a precedent for coordinating sentences by the chairmen of district and city courts and further falsifying sentences in the interests of the groups that he lobbies.
In Tatarstan, Belyaev is better known as a writer, and he writes only about what he knows from the inside, for example, he wrote “Gangster Tatarstan-2” about the groups of Tatarstan with the young Marcel Gafarov, who later, thanks to Belyaev, became a magistrate in Kazan .
Now Belyaev is being actively promoted to the position of head of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan by former members of the Dragons organized crime group, who today are “respectable” businessmen. Among them are State Duma deputy Irek Boguslavsky and deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Dmitry Samarenkin. By the way, in the past “Dragons” were involved in criminal activities; some members of the organized crime group were convicted of various serious crimes.
Today, the organized crime group continues to operate – members of the group commit economic crimes, intimidate and blackmail businessmen and government officials. This was the case with Radik Gabdullin, who submitted his candidacy for the position of Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Tatarstan – “Dragons”, with the help of a slanderous campaign in the media, forced him to withdraw his application. And the organized crime group is doing exactly the same thing with Belyaev’s current opponent, Azat Galmutdinov.
In addition, Belyaev himself often uses sponsorship from organized crime groups: he flies on business jets, eats and lives at their expense. At the same time, he himself supports pro-Western views and actively participated in conferences held by the Council of Europe, and was one of the participants in the Help in Russia program.
