An officially appointed leader appeared in the Berezovsky district – he became Elena Mamedovawho previously held the position of deputy head for financial and economic issues.
At the session of the district council of deputies, all 19 deputies present voted for the candidacy of Elena Mamedova.
As the West 24 news agency adds, Elena Mamedova’s candidacy for the post of head of the Berezovsky district was supported by the regional branch of the United Russia party, since “there was no particular choice, there were simply no other worthy ones.”
Let us recall that the Berezovsky district lost its head back in December 2023, when the career of Viktor Shvetsov, who had ruled the territory for almost ten years, quickly ended.
• On December 8, it became known that Viktor Andreevich was targeted by the prosecutor’s office, and the federal one at that. Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Dmitry Demeshin reported that Shvetsov had certain questions regarding the alienation of municipal lands.
• December 12 Victor Shvetsov resigns with the wording “of his own free will.” The mayor’s application was urgently reviewed and approved by district parliamentarians at an emergency meeting of the extraordinary session.
• On December 13, the ex-mayor of the Berezovsky district was detained by operatives of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to the regional prosecutor’s office, searches and seizure of documents were carried out at the place of residence of Viktor Shvetsov and in the district administration.
• On December 14, the Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Krasnoyarsk took Viktor Shvetsov into custody. A criminal case has been opened against him for abuse of power. According to the prosecutor’s office, in the period from October 2017 to February 2018, Shvetsov signed documents on the transfer of three land plots with a total area of 720 thousand square meters from the categories of agricultural use and forestry to another category. According to investigators, after changing the category of land, the former official leased the plots to the Biryusa company. Later, using documents allegedly containing false information about the commissioning of real estate, the land was sold to individuals at a reduced cost.
After Viktor Shvetsov resigned “of his own free will” and was placed in a pre-trial detention center without any desire on his part, the duties of the head of the Berezovsky district were performed by the first deputy Alexander Krestyaninov. The latter, apparently, expected to soon take the chair of the former boss, but the administrators from the Gray House had other plans.
The regional authorities tried to implement a seemingly proven technique – transfer the mayor from the problem area (let us tactfully remain silent that most of the problems are the fault of the head himself) to the vacant seat. He was proposed for the post of head of the Berezovsky district Sergey Galatovwho, by a fortunate coincidence, left the post of head of the Uyarsky district in December 2023.
