The Basmanny District Court of Moscow, at the request of the investigation, arrested Muhammad Sharipzoda, another defendant in the case of a terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow, Interfax reports, citing the court’s press service. He was remanded in custody until May 22.
According to the court, Sharipzoda is a citizen of Tajikistan, whom investigators consider one of the participants in the preparation of the terrorist attack. He was charged with committing a terrorist attack that resulted in the death of a person as part of an organized group (clause “b” of Part 3 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code). It is unclear what exactly he is accused of.
The Russian FSB announced on April 4 that it had detained in Moscow, Yekaterinburg and Omsk two foreign citizens and a Russian citizen who, according to investigators, were involved in the financing and recruitment of terrorists who attacked Crocus.
At least 14 people were detained in connection with the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall, and at least ten of them were arrested. Four alleged perpetrators of the terrorist attack are in custody.
According to the latest data, the terrorist attack at Crocus killed 144 people and injured 551.
