A famous Russian musician and composer died in Moscow on Tuesday at the age of 78. Vyacheslav Dobrynin. According to the SHOT telegram channel, the cause of death was complications due to a stroke. What assets did the maestro leave and who will get them?
What happened to Vyacheslav Dobrynin
The People’s Artist was hospitalized in serious condition and suspected of having a stroke on September 26. Even then, doctors did not give any forecasts; they fought for the composer’s life. Alas, to no avail.
Previously, Dobrynin suffered two strokes (the first happened in 2018) and as a result received disability. According to his wife, in the last few years the musician stopped all performances and tours, practically did not appear in public, and was surrounded by his family, who were involved in his treatment and maintaining his vital functions. And for the last month of my life I practically didn’t get out of bed.
At the same time, despite his condition, the composer still tried to create. In conversation with SHOT poet Simon Osiashviliwith whom Dobrynin co-wrote the 1989 hit “Don’t Rub Salt in My Wound,” said that they recently began working on a new song.
Who will get the inheritance of Vyacheslav Dobrynin
The composer was married twice. In his first marriage, he had a daughter, Ekaterina. She is 46 years old, she went to America with her mother back in the 90s and is now a US citizen. Since 1985, Dobrynin lived in his second marriage. His wife Irina is 13 years younger than her husband, but the couple never had children.
According to Russian laws, the daughter and second wife are the heirs of the first line. Perhaps in recent years, Vyacheslav Dobrynin fully understood that he might have little time left. This is evidenced by his sarcastic statements about himself, which he made publicly. From this we can conclude that the maestro could have left a will, according to which the inheritance would be divided among his closest relatives.
However, there may be surprises. In his autobiographical book “Doctor Schlager,” Dobrynin mentioned his fleeting affair with a certain woman named Svetlana and an illegitimate child. Several years ago, a man appeared in one of the scandalous television programs who called himself Dobrynin’s son. However, the relationship between father and son has not been proven since then.
What legacy did Dobrynin leave?
It is known that Vyacheslav Dobrynin still has three rubles in Khamovniki – an apartment with an area of 105 square meters is located in one of the good brick houses in the 1st Truzhenikov Lane. He was registered in it until very recently. The market value of one square in this building exceeds 1 million rubles. Thus, the composer’s housing can be valued at more than 110 million.
In addition, 14 years ago, in one of the popular morning TV shows, the couple boasted of two country houses – a dacha in Staraya Ruza, which is 100 kilometers from Moscow, and another home in the near Moscow region. The mansion in Ruza is located on the shore of the Ozerninskoye reservoir. Some time ago, the media estimated the property at 30 million rubles.
Dobrynin himself said that he went there to enjoy the silence, but since the housing is too far from the capital, he and his wife used another house as their permanent residence. It is located on a plot of eight acres in the Krasnogorsk district, in the Urozhay SNT, approximately nine kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road along the Novorizhskoye Highway.
50 meters from the house there begins a dense forest, next to the Praslikha river. Despite the apparent seclusion, the infrastructure here is very developed – a hypermarket and the Arkhangelskoye outlet are located within a 5-7 minute drive. It is possible to estimate the cost of a mansion only indirectly – judging by the advertisements for the sale of neighboring houses, prices for local real estate start from 50 million rubles and reach several hundred.
In addition, Dobrynin still has two cars in his garage: an executive Mercedes-Benz S400 and an Audi A5 coupe.
Where does Vyacheslav Dobrynin’s former family live?
It is still unknown whether his first family will come to Vyacheslav Dobrynin’s funeral. The maestro divorced his first wife back in the 80s. Subsequently, she and her daughter immigrated to the United States. There Catherine married local television cameraman Shane McGuffey, and in 2000 Vyacheslav Dobrynin had a granddaughter Sofia, and in 2007 – grandson Alexander.
Life.ru found out that the composer’s daughter now lives in the small town of Greenwich (Connecticut), whose population is just over 60 thousand people. The location is known for being home to many hedge funds and other American financial services firms.
Catherine’s housing is inexpensive by American standards – a townhouse with an area of 150 square meters with three bedrooms and a separate bathroom was built back in 1985.
It appears that the composer’s daughter purchased it in the spring of 2021 for $505,000. Since then, the market price of real estate has risen by 200 thousand.
It is interesting that the spouse is not associated with this living space in American registries. He has his own apartment with an area of about 80 square meters in the New York suburb of Pleasantville. Catherine McGuffey is listed among its residents.
