As part of a criminal case regarding a large bribe, an acting officer was detained. Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Bashkiria Alan Marzaev. What is the official charged with, how does he live?
Why Alan Marzaev was detained
On September 30, operatives detained the acting Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkiria, 51-year-old Alan Marzaev. In the region, he oversees housing and communal services, construction and road repairs. The security forces came for him to his mansion in the Karmaskalinsky district. Now Marzaev is detained for 72 hours. A criminal case was initiated under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe on an especially large scale).

This organization, despite revenues of 15 billion rubles, last year showed a loss of minus 4 billion. Back in June, a criminal case was opened for bribery. Among the defendants were: Marzaev’s personal driver named Arsen, as well as a Kurultai deputy associated with the Dortransstroy enterprise Dmitry Gilimyanov and ex-head of the Association of Developers of Bashkiria Marat Latypov. Let us note that Dortransstroy has provided 100 billion rubles worth of services to Bashkir government agencies over the past twenty years; the annual income there ranges from 7 to 9 billion, while the net profit is consistently one hundred times less.
What is known about Alan Marzaev
Alan Marzaev is from North Ossetia and lived in Vladikavkaz for the longest time. His dizzying career began in the nineties as a tax inspector in the cash register control department. Already at the age of 24, he headed the district tax inspectorate, at the age of 29 – the republican one, and at 31 – he went to work for the Federal Tax Service.

In 2020, he was appointed head of the Republican State Committee for Transport and Road Facilities, in 2021 he was made Minister of Housing and Communal Services, and in 2022 he sat in the chair of the region’s Deputy Prime Minister, albeit with the prefix acting.

Perhaps the investigation will study the origin of the official’s family’s assets. Alan Marzaev outwardly lives modestly. On the surface there are only Moscow and Ufa apartments, which he, apparently, uses. The first – for two rooms – is located in a historical mansion on the Garden Ring between the Red Gate and Sukharevskaya, the price is up to 40 million rubles. The second – three rubles – is located in a good-quality brick new building near the Yakutov Park, costing up to 20 million rubles.

It seems that the younger minor, according to the telegram channel Mash Batash, organized non-alcoholic parties for children in the Ufa bar My Bar. A year ago, a 12-year-old girl poisoned herself with vodka at one of them and went to intensive care. Marzaev’s son remained on the sidelines. He is still not eighteen, and his older friend was listed as the formal organizer. The local press later wrote that the father himself allegedly punished the heir by sending him to the Ishimbay Cadet Corps for re-education. Whether this is true or not is unknown. Mash Batash reports that the younger Marzaev closed his telegram channel, where he posted photographs of wads of money and videos of rides on expensive cars and motorcycles. His posts were commented on by other representatives of the golden youth of Bashkiria, for example, Khabirov’s son.
