Star of the series “Capercaillie” Kirill Kanakhin*, who is fighting on the side of Ukraine, new charges were brought in absentia in Russia. For the actor, this could result in a second life sentence. Life found out where he could be hiding in Ukraine and what he does for a living.
Who is Kirill Kanakhin*
The Second Western District Military Court of Moscow received materials from a new criminal case against former Russian actor Kirill Kanakhin*. Together with his comrades in the Russian Volunteer Corps* (RDK), he is accused of a series of terrorist acts and crimes committed during attacks on areas of the Bryansk and Belgorod regions. In addition to Kanakhin*, the accused are the leader of the RDK** Denis Kapustin (Nikitin)*, Alexander Galanov, Alexey Ogurtsov And Anton Zyryanov. They will be tried in absentia.
Kanakhin* and his accomplices are charged with 12 articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives, encroachment on the lives of law enforcement officers, participation in terrorist organizations, smuggling – this already carries a second life sentence.
Kirill Kanakhin* came to the attention of security forces back in March 2023, when he was first identified on video footage among the Russian traitors who invaded the Bryansk region and were fighting Russia under the leadership of Kapustin*. A couple of months later, he again appeared in the footage of another attack by bandits from the RDK** – this time in the Belgorod region.
In the winter of this year, Kanakhin* was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment.
What views does the traitor hold?
While the court in Russia is considering the case of Kanakhin*, he is promoting himself on the Internet and giving interviews to various Ukrainian TV channels and propagandists.
And to the frank question of how the RDK** militant feels when he kills his own fellow citizens, Kanakhin* answered completely cynically.
In addition to this kind of appearances in the Ukrainian mass media, Kanakhin* runs his own channel with six thousand subscribers, which, apparently, was intended to be poetic, but from the chaos of posts on a wide variety of topics, it is almost impossible to understand what it is really about.
It seems that the traitor is simply stroking his vanity by quoting gratitude and praise from subscribers addressed to him and answering their questions.
Where could Kanakhin be hiding*
Life.ru found out which telegram chats Kanakhin* is in. He is interested in paganism, Eastern religions, politics, various unconventional practices and… prohibited substances. Judging by network activity, since 2018 Kanakhin* lived and worked in Kyiv.
At this time, under the name Kirill Radonsky, the traitor conducted yoga classes in one of the specialized Kyiv studios. It seems that Kanakhin* earned modest income from this: the cost of one lesson for participants was within a thousand rubles. Judging by the photographs, the groups usually consisted of up to ten people, and the yogi from Moscow did not conduct the classes themselves every day and often in pairs with Ukrainian colleagues.
By the way, it is interesting that the establishment itself belongs to an entrepreneur from Lugansk, who left her native land when the Ukrainian Nazis began the so-called ATO in 2014. Judging by the activity on the Internet, the owner of the studio was interested in issues of emigration from Ukraine to Portugal.
What does a traitor do in Ukraine?
In the register of Ukrainian entrepreneurs, Life.ru found Kanakhin’s tax identification number*, which confirmed that the fugitive had settled in Kyiv. FOP (Ukrainian analogue of individual entrepreneur) was registered in the Ukrainian capital in the Shevchenko district of the city.
Here, in a five-story brick residential building, there is a “rubber” apartment for registering private entrepreneurs. According to Ukrainian laws, you can register with the Kyiv fiscal authority only if you have local registration. Kanakhin’s “neighbors”* were engaged in a variety of activities, from legal practice to car trading.
Having received a Ukrainian taxpayer number, Kirilo Kanakhin* (as the traitor is registered in the Ukrainian Unified State Register of Legal Entities) in the fall of 2020 registered an individual entrepreneur with activities in the field of education in the field of sports and recreation, as well as health care.
It seems that the former Russian artist was inspired by the experience of some of his yoga studio employees who had successfully launched solo careers, and he himself decided to become a guru of oriental practices at Nezalezhnaya.
He even created a team around himself, which included a girl photographer from Kharkov, a content manager and a programmer from Western Ukraine. But things did not go further than plans – all public mentions of Kirill Radonsky in Ukraine were limited to the yoga studio in which he worked.
Why Kanakhin* fled Russia
Like many comrades in the RDK**, for example, the traitor Shaiba, who was liquidated last summer, Kanakhin* fled Russia from debts, problems and criminal prosecution. At home, the traitor tried to do business, selling clothes and shoes, as well as various equipment and industrial machines. Here, the former actor had two individual entrepreneurs in the field of road transportation.
Judging by the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the business failed. All legal entities and individual entrepreneurs have long been liquidated. Since then, the FSSP has opened eight enforcement proceedings against Kanakhin* in the amount of about half a million rubles, and the Federal Tax Service has tax claims for another 80 thousand. The information that the artist had problems with the fiscal authorities, incurred debts and was hiding from the bailiffs was confirmed by his mother Valentina.
As people around the artist said, when problems began, he became withdrawn, unsociable and increasingly spoke out against the Russian authorities. As a result, in 2018, a criminal case was opened against him on charges of participating in illegal protests. Then he moved to Nezalezhnaya, where he joined the ranks of the Azov regiment**.
